I understand from your post that you’ve already uninstalled and re-installed QuickBooks Pro 2008. I’d suggest you to uninstall the application, run the Windows cleanup utility and then, reinstall the same. I also went to the Intuit website and re-created the qbregistration.dat file and put it into the folder. Pro 2008 and it stopped and I got the same message again. At the end of the installation I tried to start QuickBooks A dialog box appears that tells me it cannot read the qbregistration.dat file and tells me to erase the file and reinstall QuickBooks Pro 2008 which I have. I installed the lastest Windows Updates on and the problem began.
